I believe that all building design should incorporate other professions and inputs. The days of architects remaining in their ivory towers and proclaiming form should end. The social, technological, economic and environmental issues involved in building design are too complex for a single approach. However the architect is still uniquely positioned and trained to lead the design process. The future of building design lies in a multidisciplinary approach.
Biomimicry is a great example of the possibilities in considering the ever growing body of human knowledge and understanding to solve complex problems and produce better design solutions.
