Ziaullah Rahmani asked in Humanities 2nd May '16:Why we think that man is free like animals to follow whatever whims and fancies he has? In particular why today in the world things like "same sex marriage" is becoming normal that is in my opinion utterly inhumane?

Please note that the question has been phrased quite emotionally and without due reflection. What can be meant by: Man is free like animals"? In the debate about homosexuality, the ANIMAL WORLD IS REFERRED TO IN DIFFERENT WAYS. sOMETIMES HOMOSEXUALITY IS REJECTEd DBECAUSE IT WOULD BE "UNNATURal". sTILL, IT OCCURS IN THE ANIMAL WORLD AS WELL.
The word "inhumane" in the question is likewise unclear:
is it homosexuality inhumane because it would be "animal' like"?
In short: evolution and nature are not unambigous sources for human ethics.
I can imagine that for exAMPLE IN aRAB CULTURES THE LABEL HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT USED BUT SOME ROOM FOR AFFECTION BETWEEN MALES OR BETWEEN FEMALES IS UNDOUBTEDLY POSSIBLE.View all replies to this question
