Some people do question lyrics being literature?. Is there a line to be drawn between the two?

    Superstupid question.

If we consider poetry as part of literature it is too obvious. The famous "9 songs" as part of "Chu Ci - Songs of the South" by Zhou Dynasty poet Qu Yuan have been lyrics of a great bi-annual ritual music performance. Schubert putted classical German poetry to music. But even if not, there are enough examples of stories being sung and songs being told.

On the other hand: there is lots of crap literature, crap music, crap lyrics. But that doesn't say anything. Only that there is good and bad music, poetry, lyric and literature.
