How is citizen journalism competing with media corporations?. Do you see a growing role for citizen journalism?

Gerald Perry Marin replied 24th Mar '16:

Traditional corporations go and search for the news. With the power shifting towards the people, citizen journalism redefines how story is being framed. We should take note though that they are not directly competing, but opening a new wave of perspective, insight, and knowledge to be brought to light. There is definitely more and more roles for citizen journalism, but that will only provide an avenue for better competition, yielding to better content. Whether media corporations or ordinary people - we will all benefit from this new wave of journalism.
