How does meditation help to reduce stress?

george whittington replied 22nd Apr '19:

Yes, meditation helps to reduce stress. When you are practicing meditation, your heart rate and breathing slow down, your blood pressure normalizes, you use oxygen more efficiently, and you sweat less. Also, your adrenal glands produce less cortisol, your mind ages at a slower rate, and your immune function improves. Your mind also clears and your creativity increases. People who meditate regularly find it easier to give up life-damaging habits like a smoking cigarette, drinking alcohol, and also helps to get rid of drugs.

Has the practice of meditation, impressed you enough to believe in and recommend to patrons?.

george whittington replied 26th Mar '19:

Yes, meditation is very good for Anxiety and depression, though it takes some time to master the technique. Start off small with just 5-10 minutes of focusing on your breath. It may help to count your breaths. If you lose count, start again at one. Persevere and the results will be worth it.
